Traditional hard-carved signs offer the most possibilities for painting, sculpting, and arranging. Cedar and redwood are the most popular exotic woods. We use hand tools to shape and carve the wood. Carved signs provide a traditional look that HDU cannot duplicate. We finish hand-made signs with gold leaf, palladium leaf, and lettering enamel. We can use machine routers to mimic the hand-carved look, but nothing can replace the real thing.

Other lumber such as teak and mahogany are wells suited for carved sign-making. We love to use teak for nautical signs. Mahogany also holds up well to harsh outdoor conditions. Hand-carved signs will satisfy your creative desires.
