We make sandblasted signs by hand at our shop in Edgewater, Maryland. We build them from HDU and cedar, and we can carve granite as well. If you want a routed sign instead, we can do that with HDU too. Every sandblasted sign is made to match your design.
How We Make Sandblasted Signs
We carve each sign by hand using abrasive blasting. HDU signs can be blasted to look like wood. Each cedar sign also has its own grain pattern. We reveal that pattern with sandblasting, which adds character and class to your sign.
A rubber stencil protects the letters while we blast the background away. Stone works the other way around. When we blast stone, we usually protect the background with a rubber mask and expose the letters to the sand.
Why Sandblasted Signs Hold Up
We still blast dimensional signs by hand, and we will make yours the way you want it. In this example, we first blasted a wood grain background. The technique adds depth and character to the sign. If you are looking to buy sandblasted signs, send us a message or give us a call.
