How Do We Install 3D Letters?
From our shop in Edgewater, Maryland, Designs & Signs made brushed aluminum letters for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. The council is a regional organization that serves the Washington, DC area. We cut each letter from brushed aluminum plate with a laser. Each letter also has 1/4 inch returns, so it stands out from the wall. As a result, these brushed aluminum letters look sharp in the entrance.
How do the letters stay in place? First, we use a paper pattern to position every letter. This pattern keeps the spacing accurate across the whole wall. Next, we mount each letter with strong double-sided tape. The tape bonds firmly, so the letters stay put. Because the bond is permanent, our installers do not move a letter after it touches the wall. Instead, we check the pattern carefully before installing. For more detail, read our guide on how to install dimensional letters.
Brushed Aluminum Letters and a Matching Cast Plaque
We also made a matching cast aluminum plaque for MWCOG. The plaque has brushed letters to match the ones on the entrance wall. Its recessed background has a black leatherette texture. Also, every plaque we make gets a protective clear coating. This coating helps the plaque hold up indoors or outdoors, even in harsh weather. Together, the plaque and the wall letters give the lobby a consistent look.
Brushed aluminum letters work well for offices, lobbies, and reception walls. They also suit any wall where you want a clean metal look. Moreover, we can match the font, size, and finish to your logo. Send us your logo and wall measurements, and we will recommend a letter height.
