A farm often sits at the end of a long road, behind fields and fences. So a good entrance sign does two jobs: it helps visitors find the right driveway, and it sets the tone before they arrive. Well-made farm signs also tell buyers and guests that the place is cared for. From our shop in Edgewater, Maryland, we design and build entrance signs for farms, stables, and country estates.

Farm Signs in Cedar and HDU

Most of our farm signs are sandblasted, which leaves raised letters above a textured background. First, you choose the material. Cedar brings real wood grain, and for our best signs we use vertical grain clear heart cedar, as we did for the entrance signs at Tally Ho. HDU, on the other hand, never rots or warps, and we can give it a woodgrain texture that looks like cedar. For example, the owner of Windswept Farm chose HDU with a woodgrain frame.

Gold Leaf and Custom Artwork

A touch of gold makes a country sign stand out against fields and trees. For instance, on the Windswept Farm sign, we laid genuine 23 karat gold leaf on the letters, the border, and a carved horn. We can add a horse, a barn, a crest, or any symbol that fits your property. In every case, we design the sign around your name and the place it will stand.

Estate and Rural Entrance Signs

Farms aren’t the only rural properties that need a strong entrance. Likewise, we’ve made gold leaf entrance signs for country communities, such as Riding Stable Estates in Laurel and Coxby’s Estates III in Edgewater. We can also mount a new sign on your existing stone posts or gate.
