Cast aluminum memorial plaque for Maryland Vision Institute
We made this cast aluminum plaque for Maryland Vision Institute in Hagerstown, Maryland. A lovely memorial plaque is on display there. We know it will always be there to remind us of the great Dr. Bergman, who gave so much to his community.
Memorial plaque tribute to Erik A. Bergman, M.D.
Maryland Vision Institute shared this tribute:
On June 9th, 2012, Dr. Erik A. Bergman, M.D., founding physician of Bergman Eye Center, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Unfortunately, he was only 59 years old. Our hearts are saddened, and there are few words to express the loss that we feel. Our community has lost a great surgeon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Dr. Bergman was a devoted humanitarian. We will remember his many good deeds. We are grateful to our community members who expressed their condolences and sent prayers and words of encouragement through this difficult time. All of us feel honored and blessed to have worked with Dr. Bergman. Our doctors and staff at Maryland Vision Institute are 100% committed to carrying out the legacy that Dr. Bergman has left. We promise to uphold the same exemplary standard of patient care on which Dr. Bergman built his reputation. We will dedicate our time and efforts to continuing the work that he loved.
Dr. Bergman was born in Takoma Park on Aug. 17, 1952. Throughout his life, he served the community as a highly respected ophthalmologist. Loma Linda University in California awarded him a medical degree in 1979. His training led him to become an eye surgeon missionary to Swaziland, South Africa. He was a leader and member of FaithStep, but first of all, he was a father, husband, humanitarian, and physician.
Why choose a cast aluminum plaque
Cast aluminum plaques are strong, lightweight, and weather resistant. They hold crisp, raised letters, so names and dates stay easy to read for years. Because the metal resists rust, a cast plaque works well indoors and outdoors. You can place one in a lobby, a garden, or on the wall of a building. A cast plaque is also easy to care for. A quick wipe with a soft cloth keeps the surface clean, and the raised letters stay sharp.
Honoring someone special
A plaque is a lasting way to honor a doctor, a teacher, a founder, or a loved one. Many businesses place a plaque in their lobby, so visitors can read about the people who built the organization. Families also choose plaques for gardens and community spaces. You can choose the wording, the border, and the finish.
How we make a cast plaque
First, send us your wording and any logo or photo. Then we send you a drawing to review. Next, we adjust the drawing with you until it feels right. Finally, we make the plaque, and you can mount it wherever you like. Please ask us if you need help with the layout or the wording.
