A Development Entrance Sign on Existing Stone Posts
This new development entrance sign welcomes visitors to Riding Stable Estates in Laurel, Maryland. We made the sign at our shop in Edgewater, Maryland, and we finished the lettering with 23 karat gold leaf. The old sign had worn out, so we created a unique design and sign shape to replace it.
We removed the old sign and installed the new sandblasted sign in its place, on the existing stone posts. The new sign also has a custom handmade steel bracket on the back.
Sandblasted Lettering with Gold Leaf
Sandblasting cuts the lettering into the sign, which gives it clear shadows and sharp edges. Then we apply gold leaf by hand. The bright gold stands out against the darker background, so drivers can read the community name from the road. As a result, the sign suits a stone entrance well.
Designing for Existing Posts
When a community already has handsome stone posts, we design the sign to fit them. First, we measure the posts and the space between them. Then we choose a shape and size that suit the stonework. Finally, we build a bracket to carry the sign.
