Why a Polished Granite Sign Works
Some materials look finished from the start, and polished granite is one of them. First, we mask the stone with rubber. Then we sandblast the lettering into the surface.
The natural marbling in the stone does much of the work for us. The color and gloss of the face need no further treatment. As a result, the sign looks sharp as soon as we remove the masking. In short, the artist cannot improve on what nature has already made.
