Witty Boat Names Get Smiles at the Dock

Witty boat names are trendy and fun to read. This punny boat name gets even better with the visual impact of custom images on the transom. We created a pane of glass with the name reflected in the glass. It is hard to say what this name might mean without offering an incorrect explanation, so we will leave it to your imagination. This witty boat name might have more than one meaning.

If you go out on a limb with a punny, unique boat name, make sure the meaning is not too personal. Everyone will ask you about the boat name, and you will have some explaining to do.

What Is a Pun?

A pun is a way to make a witty boat name that is both unique and memorable. A pun is a double meaning of a word. You can probably see two puns in this name, “our” and “hour,” in the photo above. In addition, “glass” has a double meaning, because an hourglass is very different from a sheet of glass. However, the transom shows a sheet of glass with the name reflected onto it.

Is Your Boat Name Going to Be Too Weird?

You do not need to worry about that. We have seen it all. Over the years, Edgewater, Maryland has been our home base for painting many witty boat names. Some are cheeky, others are funny, and some have no explanation at all. So, however strange your boat name idea might be, ask us if we can make it work. Often, we can take your original idea and suggest changes that make it turn out even better than you hoped. Tell us the name and any ideas for images, and we will show you what works on your transom.
