This silver and gold boat name belongs to Alchemy, a Fleming yacht with her hailing port in Richmond, VA. We lettered the name in two metals: burnished silver leaf and burnished gold leaf. Each letter sits on a black Avery outline.
A silver and gold boat name for Alchemy
The name inspired the design. Alchemy was the old quest to turn ordinary metal into gold, so mixing the two metals felt like a perfect fit. As a result, the name tells a little story before anyone reads the hailing port. Even so, the bold capitals keep the look classic and easy to read.
Why burnished leaf and a black outline
On a silver and gold boat name, burnished leaf has a soft, satin shine, so the two metals sit side by side without competing. However, metallic letters on a white hull can fade from a distance. For that reason, a thin black outline frames each letter. That way, the name reads clearly from the dock, and both metals still glow up close.
Lettering a Fleming yacht
We letter many Fleming yachts, so we know these transoms well. First, we lay out the name to scale and send a mock photo on your own boat. Next, we install the black Avery outline and lay the leaf film on top, much like vinyl. For more ideas, see True North in burnished silver and Bonnie Sue in burnished gold.
Choose your own silver and gold boat name
Every boat name we make is custom. You can pick one metal, or mix two for a name with a story, like Alchemy. Browse all of our silver leaf boat names and gold leaf boat names for more ideas. We work out of Edgewater, Maryland.
