Cedar signs with pin mounted komacel letters, manufactured and installed by Designs & Signs, at The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, Maryland. At this location, seventeen cedar way finding signs were installed. Unfortunately with prices of exotic lumber on the rise, cedar signs are becoming less affordable and less popular for buyers. Designs & Signs does have access to exotic woods such as cedar, teak, and mahogany, but for most projects we recommend faux wood carved sign foam. When carved and properly finished, it accurately resembles carved wood and it is the most cost effective material available to our customers.
